We develop primarily in PHP, an open-source programming language that is widely used throughout the industry, and most of web servers are Linux-based. This combination of PHP/Linux is the de facto standard for many (or perhaps most) web development agencies, as they offer an unrivalled combination of efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Most of our websites are built into content management systems (CMS), the most popular of which is WordPress. We specialise in developing custom WordPress themes, which we code by hand in-house. Using WordPress enables us to take advantage of the many benefits of an open-source CMS, such as cost (it’s free!), very strong support and rapid security patch implementation.
We also work with a variety of other open-source CMS platforms, such as Joomla, Drupal, MODX and SilverStripe. We also develop websites using open-source ecommerce solutions such as OpenCart, Magento and CS-Cart.
Although most clients ask for CMS-based websites, we still build good old fashioned HTML websites when required, mostly for micro-sites or other smaller projects with a reduced budget. Whatever your requirements, we’ll be happy to build the right solution for you.
